12 Days of Kitschmas

--Photo: cross-cards-- Ship of Fools has as Day Nine of the 12 Days of Kitschmas these ‘Cross Shaped Cards’. I think I have finally been able to find the perfect gift for a certain son-in-law who is very hard to buy for.

Now our monthly poker nights can be much more edifying:

“A pair of kings… but there can only be one king in our hearts.”

“Three of a kind… Father, Son and Holy Ghost.”

“Six of spades… umm…”

Me, hard to buy for? Bah! I’m the easiest person to buy for that I know, unless you’re limiting your shopping to school district surplus auctions or something. I think I already have multiples of everything they sell at those.

Now, if these cheesy evangelicals were clever, the sixes in this deck would each have some piece of the Beast, fitting together with its mates. So if you got a three of a kind in sixes… :-O

Reminds me of a joke I read someplace: “I stayed up all night playing poker with tarot cards. I got a full house, and four people died.”

I’m still trying to find a set of Mormon playing cards. One of my mormon friends has one. It has things like Seaguls and Temples instead of hearts and diamonds, etc. (Mormons aren’t allowed to play with regular “poker” decks).
