AeroBed Premier Dual Zone Air Mattress
My wife tells me it is time for a new bed. I have been sleeping on a waterbed for over 30 years. We have had a waterbed for the 25+ years that we have been married and she tells me it is time to move on. We have seen the ads for the Select Comfort Sleep Number beds and she tells me that is what we need.
Well, cheapskate that I am I got on Google to see what was available and found quite a few good reviews of the AeroBed.
The AeroBed Premier Dual Zone has 2 separate firmness controls and looks to be the nicest of the air mattresses.
You need separate controllers if you want maximum comfort for two people. The two controllers included allow either person to independently adjust the firmness level on either side of the bed, allowing each sleeper to select their precise firmness and support comfort levels without disturbing the other sleeper.
Here are the features according to the AeroBed site:
- Specially designed to maximize individual comfort for two sleepers
- Featuring (2) built-in flat panel profile pumps
- Inflates and deflates in less than 60 seconds
- Includes removable, washable fleece mattress cover
- Quadra Coil constructed base for firm, lasting support
- Made of puncture-resistant, heavy-gauge PVC vinyl.
- Fits standard size sheets.
- Two-year limited express warranty on pump
- Weighs about 20 lbs.
- Convenient carry bag included
The retail price is about $270 for the King size mattress and $40 less for the Queen. This looks to be a great bed, but maybe instead of putting it our master bedroom it will have to go in the 27′ travel trailer!

We are sleeping on a waterbed that we’ve had for 21 years (with a replacement mattress about 10 years ago.) It’s fine for me, but my wife can no longer sleep well on it. We have tried many other very expensive mattresses - one of which was a $2600 Tempurpedic and after one night it put my wife in tears to realize how much money we’d wasted. (Non-returnable because it was a sale price!) We just borrowed a pair of twin sized Aerobed mattresses while on a trip and they were so comfortable that we bought a queen sized one of our own for our summer place. Now we are shopping for two more twins for the winter place and discovered the dual model. It should be perfect. Then we’ll say goodbye to the waterbed and the pile of other beds in the guest room forever!
