Gas Temperature Map for the US

--Photo: Gas Map--

Gas Buddy is an interesting site that has a National Gas Temperature Map. The map shows the prices of gas around the country from the darker greens being the cheapest fading to oranges and reds indicating the most expensive gas prices.

The map shows that prices are highest in California but both coasts show high prices.

If you right-click on the map at the web site it will show you the average reported price in that county or, if you zoom in, by zip code and provide a link that lists the locations of all the reported prices.

Besides using it for the local gas price, if you are planning a trip this could be used to look ahead to where you are going and checking for the cheapest prices. On a long trip saving 10 cents a gallon at each stop could really help.
